Lots of things about 20s silent movie star Louise Brooks (you’ll NEVER guess who she had a lesbian one-night stand with!), some gorgeous 50s fashions by Traina Norell, Merle Oberon (after her disfiguring car accident) and the 16-year-old girl who would become Rita Hayworth…

Terrible vintage hats, 2 Suzy Parkers and what they thought Michael Jackson would look like aged 40…
Sorry for not posting for a few days (here that is, We Heart Vintage has been as busy as ever!) – it’s the Easter school holidays and I’m struggling for time a bit this week. So for everyone who’s emails are going unanswered sorry sorry sorry, I’ll definitely get back to you next week at the latest!!!
Anyway here are a few things which have been on the blog in the last 24 hours. There’s me in my amazing new £10 vintage party dress, 2 Suzy Parkers in an early PhotoShop fashion feature, a collection of absolutely appalling 1950s hats which make you look like you’re having a terrible hair day (seriously check them out!) and an artist’s impression of what Michael Jackson ‘would look like’ in the year 2000. How wrong they were…
Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe & sixties children’s fashions by Pierre Cardin
On the blog today we’ve got a gorgeous 1950s playsuit, some cute as a button 1960s children’s fashions by Pierre Cardin. Grace Kelly’s costumes from Hitchcock’s Rear Window, Marilyn Monroe smiling happily, a 60s double-exposure fashion photo, and a sponsor spotlight on a gorgeous swimwear retailer…
Sophian Loren looking like Audrey Hepburn, a grown up Shirley Temple and Kate Winslet
I never thought I’d say that Sophia Loren looks like Audrey Hepburn, but she sure does here! Plus there’s a grown up Shirley Temple in a fur coat, some fabulous 1950s bathing caps and Kate Winslet…
50s spots, 30s feathers and a 1940s wind machine
A beautiful 1930s evening gown, a very young Jane Fonda, a very spotty 1950s magazine cover and some experimental beauty photos using a wind machine from the 1940s!
Some strange and beautiful 1950s Givenchy fashions
Hubert de Givenchy’s fashions which were shown in Paris in February 1952. The model above left is Jeannie Patchett but I’m not sure about the others – anyone know? I particularly like the strange triple-bow necktie contraption and huge Spanish-style ruffled sleeves!
